Year 5 and 6 Residential Trip to
Carroty Wood Outdoor Adventure Centre
Our eldest children had a very successful and enjoyable three day residential trip to Carroty Wood Outdoor Adventure Centre near Tunbridge Wells in West Kent. The days were packed with activities ranging from team building games in the woods; in which Lilly successfully dis-armed a radio-active bomb and groups navigated their way across minefields after completing a Ninja training course, to reaching the 10metre mark on the climbing wall after building and paddling our own rafts.
The most popular activity was a Low Ropes course which seemed to involve crawling across, paddling through and falling in various muddy swamps – it almost turned into a competition as to who could cover themselves in the most mud! On our final evening, we built a successful campfire under Mrs Lim’s guidance and toasted marshmallows.
The children were wonderfully enthusiastic about every activity and very supportive of each other so that everyone was able to achieve. They were a real pleasure to spend time with. Many thanks to the PTA who paid for the rafting session, and to Mrs Coleman who provided our evening sweets and made sure everything was booked and organised in advance so that the trip ran smoothly.
