What an amazing week!
We have really enjoyed a wonderful and varied programme of events. Here's just a few of the highlights.
On Monday Tigers shared their research about famous scientists and encouraged others to add names of scientists they had heard of to a list in the hall. These ranged from Sir Isaac Newton to Mary Anning, from Marie Curie to Stephen Hawking.
Robokids was a fantastic interactive science show, focused on space exploration and how modern technologies support and come from this. The star of the show was an interactive mini robot which had been programmed to answer questions, sit, stand, wave and even dance!
Tigers then took part in a workshop where they made robots from interactive Lego which they then programmed using ipads.
Owls Class were also kept busy making 'Bug Hotels' in our wildlife garden at the front of the school, while Bees grew cress from seeds and explored what plants needed to make them grow.
Tigers and Eagles classes worked together in the hall on a series of science challenges on Thursday afternoon. Year 6 led the groups, using computers to help explain each challenge and supporting everyone in completing their tasks. The challenges included making balloon powered cars and finding ways to build the tallest tower - using spaghetti and marshmallows!
Huge thanks to Mrs Lim for organising all of the activities that made this week so successful.
Do take a look in the Gallery to see photos of these events!
