On Tuesday afternoon, the school was open for parents to share their child’s learning with them and visit the classrooms to view the learning environments. The children were very enthusiastic to talk to their parents about their books and explain what they have been learning as well as demonstrating their improved skills and progress in many areas. Many parents commented on the quality of presentation in the books, particularly the joined handwriting from Year 2 upwards.
The teachers and teaching assistants had worked very hard to display the children’s learning attractively and there was a great deal of creativity on show from space rockets and tin-can aliens to still-life and landscapes in various media, along with many subject areas such as Science, Geography, History, Maths, English and RE. Parents were asked to leave a comment for their child which has been stuck into Engli sh into English books as a record of the event.
Thank you to Year 6 who hosted the afternoon by greeting parents at the front door and serving refreshments. There are more photographs available on the Gallery page of the school website.
