Governors’ Open Meeting for Parents
The Governing Body of the school hosted an Open Meeting for Parents last night to celebrate the successes of the last year and share plans for the school going forwards.
The last year – things to celebrate
10 new children joined Reception in September with5 new children joining other classes in the school
We were judged ‘good’ overallby Ofsted in September, continued improvement recognised by recent monitoring visit from Local Authority
A wide range of after-school clubs have been organised and well-attended throughout the year
We visited Wimille, the Marlowe theatre, the Beaney museum, Chiddingstone Castle and Canterbury Cathedral – Year 5 and 6 residential next week
We enjoyed a live performance of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in school, Jet Class saw the ‘Groovy Greeks’ at the Marlowe
The children have raised money for Children in Need and Sports Relief and the PTA have held many successful events to support the school with additional resources
Parents have participated in school events regularly such as Celebration Assemblies, performances, Church Services, Parent teacher consultations and Open Afternoons
All the children performed in the Nativity Play – plans for
our Summer Production are underway
We have loved learning and performing music with Mrs Clay, students from Christ Church University and the local village choir – including our choir performing at the Gulbenkian
We have entered Sports competitions such as Infant Agility, Kwik Cricket and the virtual league, and had specialist coaches in school for gymnastics, football, tennis, cricket and martial arts
We have developed the curriculum to learn outside where possible – taking ideas from Forest School approaches
The standard of teaching and learning in the school has recently been rated as 100% good with 40% outstanding
