The children in Jet Class and Emerald Class took part in workshops with a ‘Being Healthy’ message. The focus for Jet class was ‘A Healthier Me’ identifying choices they could make as they grow older, and more independent, that will have a positive impact on their health and well-being.
Emerald Class looked at ‘Foods I Like’, encouraging them to make healthy choices for meals and snacks; but also to try new foods to broaden the range of food types they eat on a regular basis.
These workshops, delivered by the Local Authority ‘Healthy Lifestyles’ team, are part of our whole school focus on the Health and Well-being of everyone in our school community. Further workshops and activities are planned to take place in the next few months.
Being healthy, safe, cared for, having a voice and influence are important factors in being 'ready to learn' and achieving our potential - at any stage in our lives. Our aim is to help our children to grow healthily, safely and responsibly and to become active citizens who contribute to society and care for the environment.
Every child will bring home a ‘change 4 life – sugar smart’ pack today to support the messages given in the workshops.
