Together we learn, achieve and grow

Welcome Back

We are very happy to welcome everyone back after the summer break and offer a special greeting to new families who are joining our school community

We have a full cohort of 15 children joining Reception (BEES CLASS) this year and we are very pleased that we have been able to create a dedicated Reception class for them led by Miss Walker and Mrs Newman. The children will be staying all day from Monday with older children identified as ‘buddies’ for them to offer support at break and lunchtimes and to help them settle in.

Year 1 and 2 children are now in OWLS CLASS with Mrs Vickers supported by Mrs O’Keeffe and Miss Goodman. Parents of OWLS CLASS are invited to a ‘meet the teacher’ session on Tuesday 13th at 2.45pm, this will allow you to view the new classroom environment that has been set up and hear about the curriculum planned for the term ahead.

Year 3 and 4 have moved into the larger classroom in KS2 and have chosen to be known as EAGLES CLASS. Miss Betts and Mrs Byrne will teach these children expertly supported by Mrs Gaffney. Parents of EAGLES CLASS are invited to their ‘meet the teacher’ session on Wednesday 14th at 2.45pm.

Year 5 and 6 have also moved classrooms and are now known as TIGERS CLASS led by Mrs Lim and Mrs Hines. Parents of TIGERS CLASS are invited to their ‘meet the teacher’ session on Tuesday 13th at 3.15pm.

Mrs Lim and Miss Betts will continue to offer specialist teaching in Maths and English for children in years 4, 5 and 6 as this had a very positive impact on children’s progress and achievement last year. We are also welcoming Mrs Bailey to the staff team; she will be working on Thursdays and Fridays in different classes across the school bringing additional skills in PE and  Languages  to our curriculum.

We have also created two further learning areas in the school known as The Lodge and The Den, these will be used for small group teaching and also for activities such as Music and Art where more space may be needed.
