Together, we grow, thrive and achieve

Staff Wellbeing

Staff Wellbeing

As a school and workplace dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our whole school community, we recognise the role that staff members play in supporting this vision.

Our approach to staff wellbeing is embedded through our whole school community who support:

  • Fostering and supporting a pleasant environment in which to work
  • A spacious staffroom for all staff to use away from pupils and visitors
  • School based reflective supervision sessions
  • Closing the school at times throughout the year (half terms and holidays) to ensure staff do not feel as though they should be in school
  • PPA at home, where appropriate
  • Opportunities to come together as a staff team, where possible
  • Staff being involved in their inter house competitions
  • Verbal recognition
  • Staff wellbeing surveys to capture voice
  • No member of staff is expected to respond to parents or emails before 8:30 am or after 5pm or at the weekend
  • No member of staff is expected to respond to any other emails before 8:30 am or after 5pm or at the weekend

Department for Education - Education Staff Wellbeing Charter

Littlebourne School has signed up to the Department for Education's Education Staff Wellbeing Charter.

This ensures that we continue to commit to protecting, promoting and enhancing the wellbeing of all of our staff team.

School Based Reflective Supervision

Senior Leaders at Littlebourne provide School Based Reflective Supervision to any member of staff who identifies that they require additional support. This can be completed on a 1:1 basis or as part of a group.

All members of staff experience elements of this during daily interactions and staff meetings.
