Littlebourne and The Kent School Award for Resilience and Emotional Wellbeing

Littlebourne and The Kent School Award for Resilience and Emotional Wellbeing

Littlebourne School is working towards the

Kent School Award for Resilience and Emotional Wellbeing.

This is a process of celebrating the good practice already in place to support resilience and wellbeing, but ensuring we are developing our current approach, identifying any gaps and putting actions in place to develop this provision further.

The School Resilience Toolkit and the Community Resilience Toolkit have been based on 8 key principles from the Public Health England paper Promoting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing: a whole school and college approach(PHE, 2021).

A whole school or whole setting approach ensures the resilience and wellbeing of everybody (young people, families and staff) is promoted and supported and can lead to:

  • Improved wellbeing of young people, staff and families
  • Improved learning and attainment
  • The development of social and emotional skills
  • Prevention of mental health problems
  • Improved behaviour.

Ultimately, developing our whole school approach enabling a positive and universal focus on wellbeing.

More details will be available in the future.
